This morning Andrew helped launch Wood Farm Primary School's Mock-Election project.
The launch was aimed at getting the pupils excited and prepared for the two week project where they will hold a mock-election for the whole school. Each class will be set up as a constituency and divided into three political parties; each party will then create their manifesto and run an election campaign. Pupils will campaign by creating posters, putting on party political broadcasts and delivering speeches. The project will culminate with an election where the whole school will vote.
Andrew, who spoke with the pupils about the importance of politics and the role of elections, said: "I was really pleased to be able to take part in this really exciting initiative that the school are running. It was great to talk with the pupils about their ideas and see the passion they have for getting involved."
