   Andrew opens Windmill School Library

Andrew with Headteacher Lynn Knapp

Andrew Smith has cut the ribbon to open the new School Library at Windmill School, Headington.  It is the first time the school has had a proper library.  It is the product of a lot of hard work and fund-raising by parents, governors, staff and friends fo the school.

Andrew said: "It was great to open the library and share in the enthusiasm of the children.  The Library is wonderfully light and airy, with a great range of books.  Volunteers  have bar-coded all the fiction so children can borrow the books to take home, using the new computerised record system.

"When we did hi-hip-hooray for Windmill School, with all the children sitting in the sunshine looking in on their new library, you could feel all that is good in a well-run and happy school, and the good start it is giving these children in their lives.  Well done Windmill School."
