   Parking Need

Tory controlled Oxfordshire County Council have imposed charging for residents' parking with no regard for the huge public opposition and the concerns of affected residents.

One aspect of this which hasn't had so much attention is the effect on specialist shops, who can find that customer parking is suddenly drastically reduced, even putting business viability at risk.

One such area is the Marston Road, where I have been taking up the concerns of a specialist trader trying to get more 2-hour public parking bays conveninet for customers visiting his shop.

In general, I think the residents' parking areas should have a few more of these 2-hour bays. They can't be used by commuters, but they do open up a bit more parking space for people making visits to shops and commmunity facilities.
