Andrew Smith MP officially inaugurated Oxford's first school wind turbine at Sandhills Community Primary School.  The wind turbine will generate a quarter of the school's electricity and save it £1,500 a year in power bills.

Andrew said "This is a great achievement by Sandhills School, and points the way for other local schools.  It forms part of a full programme of environmental education at the school, which teaches children how to conserve resources and look after our environment."

Andrew Smith and Joe Johnson praised the work of teacher Maureen Stephens who led the project to successful completion.
