Andrew Smith has welcomed news that Sir Michael Sobell House is to receive a grant from the Department of Health Dignity in Care programme.

The £58,000 grant will help Sobell House refurbish and redecorate the hospice, and maintain its good environment for patients.

 Andrew Smith said "Sir Michael Sobell House gives a wonderfully caring service, and rightly enjoys great local public support.  Evidene confirms the common sense view that a good physical environment has a positive impact on the care and treatments of patients.  This redecoration will benefit not only patients, but also their families, carers and staff."
