Andrew supports Oxford foodbank

NEWS_POST39.jpgAndrew Smith MP today handed over the fruits of Oxford Labour’s drive in support of local foodbank.

Andrew, together with his constituency office staff, local councillors, and with the support of the Oxford Labour Party, has led a donation drive for items such as tinned food, cereals, pasta, rice, sauces and biscuits, to help vulnerable people who have fallen upon hard times.
Andrew, pictured with Jane Benyon, Head of Oxford Community Emergency Foodbank, said: “It is disgraceful that people in the UK today should have to rely on food banks.
"In Oxford we are very lucky to have excellent organisations, like the Community Emergency Foodbank, which provide a vital support to local people who are most in need.”
The CEF started at St. Francis Church, Hollow Way, in April 2008 and is now open every Tuesday and Friday between 12 noon and 2pm.
If you would like to help support the CEF please email or call 01993 810 622 for more information.
