Andrew Smith MP joined local residents to welcome the Olympic Torch to Oxford.
Andrew stood and cheered with the crowds in Blackbird Leys as the torch came through. He said: "I was delighted to welcome the Olympic Torch to Oxford -- a truly once in a lifetime experience. It is great to see so many people of all ages and backgrounds coming together to welcome the Torch and support the games".
Tomorrow morning Andrew will again join local residents to see the torch at the Sir Roger Bannister Running Track at the Oxford University sports ground and to cheer it on its way as it leaves Oxford and continue its journey across the country.
Andrew added: "It's really great to have the Olympic Torch in the very place here in Oxford where Sir Roger and his team made athletic history."
