Andrew backs Iffley residents' 20's plenty call

Andrew with Iffley residents

Andrew has joined Iffley residents in calling for a 20 mph zone in the village.  He met local residents and Councillor Ed Turner for a walk along Church Way with "20's plenty" banners and placards.

Andrew said "There is an upsurge of enthusiasm in Iffley and other residential areas for 20 mph zones.  They are safer, especially for children, senior citizens and cyclists, but they also actually help traffic move more smoothly."

"At speeds of less than 20mph, drivers have more connection with the area they are in.  This is an important step toward creating a much more human feel to residential areas.  It's about time the County Council listened to local people on this."

"It is quite wrong that residential streets, whether on the estates or in villages like Iffley, are exposed to all the dangers of speeding traffic."
