Andrew Smith MP: On Your Side in Oxford East

Welcome to my website, I am the Labour MP for Oxford East. I believe that the main priority for an MP should be to provide a service to constituents, helping with problems and taking up views and concerns. Communication and consultation is vital, I want to use this website to let you know what I am doing, in Oxford and in Westminster, and to give you ways to share your views with me.

   Andrew opens new Genzyme facilities

Andrew Smith has officially opened the new expanded Genzyme facilities at Oxford Business Park.

Genzyme works closely with Oxford University and local hospitals to develop innovative products to help in the treatment of chronically debilitating diseases including genetic disorders, renal disease and thyroid cancer.

Andrew said:  "The growth of Genzyme here in Oxford shows the real benefits of the knowledge economy,  not only generating local jobs but working with our world class university research and NHS hospitals to help relieve the suffering of people with rare and family inherited diseases."
