  
Oxford's new Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre was officially opened by the Duchess of Cornwall.
Andrew Smith said:"It is a really happy occasion. It's a wonderful new state of the art hospital, with a great team of staff and enjoys huge support amonst patients and local people."
The £42 million hospital has a specialist bone infection unit, outpatient area, new operating theatres, day surgery and hydrotherapy pool.
The Duchess went on to unveil a plaque to mark the opening of the Botnar Research Centre, a joint venture by the NOC and Oxford University.
Andrew chatted with staff, who are excited to be working at the leading edge of world research into muscular-skeletal diseases and their treatment.
Andrew chairs the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Specialist Orthopaedic Hospitals and
Services.
